Paacha uses Sign in with Apple for authentication, your camera and photo library to attach photos to places, and your location to record where places are. Your data lives in your private iCloud account and on your device. I don't run any servers your data touches, I don't use analytics or third-party SDKs inside the app, and I don't share anything with anyone.
Paacha uses Sign in with Apple to create and identify your account. When you sign in, Apple provides a unique identifier for your account. You can optionally share your name and an email address with the app. If you choose to share your email, Apple may provide a private relay address. I use this information only to identify your account within the app. It is not sold, shared, or used for marketing.
Paacha asks for camera access so you can take photos to attach to places you save. Photos are stored privately in your iCloud account and on your device. They are never uploaded to any server I control, because there is no such server.
Paacha asks for photo library access so you can attach existing photos from your library to your places. The same rule applies: photos go into your private iCloud data, not anywhere else.
Paacha asks for your location while the app is in use so it can record where a place is when you save it. Your location data is stored in your private iCloud account and on your device. It is not transmitted to me or any third party.
Your places, photos, notes, and journal entries are stored in your private iCloud container (iCloud.com.cinderstep.paacha.Paacha). This data belongs to you, lives under your Apple ID, and can only be accessed by you and your devices. Apple's CloudKit infrastructure handles transmission and storage with end-to-end encryption. I cannot access your data.
Paacha also stores your data locally on your device so the app works offline. This local copy mirrors your iCloud data and never leaves your device through any path I control.
To be explicit about what is not happening:
The paacha.app website uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use it. A cookie consent banner appears on your first visit. If you decline, neither service loads and no data is collected. This applies to the website only and has no connection to your in-app data.
Paacha is not directed at children under 13 and I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If a parent or guardian believes their child has used the app and wants the associated data removed, please contact me at [email protected] and I will assist.
Your data is retained as long as you use the app. You can delete individual places at any time from within the app. To remove all of your data, delete the app and remove the associated iCloud data from Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Paacha. Once removed from iCloud, the data is gone.
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If there are material changes, I'll note them here.
